How to use AuraSeed
Everything you need to plant your first seed, keep your tree alive and grow your forest.
Your first session
You don't need an account to start. Open the app and you can plant right away.
- 1Drag the focus ring to pick anywhere from 5 to 120 minutes. The default is 25.
- 2Choose a tree, a tag and a sound if you like.
- 3Tap Plant and put your phone down.
- 4When time's up, your tree joins your forest and you earn Aura.
Keeping your tree alive
The rule is simple: stay with your tree until time's up.
- Locking your screen is fine. Your tree keeps growing.
- Open another app and you have 10 seconds to come back. After that, your tree withers.
- Changed your mind in the first 10 seconds? Tap Cancel and nothing is lost.
- After the first 10 seconds, Give up withers the tree.
- If AuraSeed is closed during a session, that counts as leaving the app too.
- Withered trees stay in your forest, so you can look back on every attempt.
App blocking
With app blocking on, other apps are locked while your tree grows. You choose which apps stay allowed, and the list stays on your phone.
- 1Open Settings and choose Block apps while planting.
- 2Tap Allow access and follow your phone's prompts.
- 3Pick the apps you still want to use, like music or a dictionary.
- 4On the Plant screen, tap the Block apps chip to turn it on or off for each session.
- 1When asked, allow AuraSeed to use iOS Screen Time.
- 1Turn on Usage access and Display over other apps for AuraSeed.
- 2While blocking is on, a persistent notification shows that AuraSeed is blocking apps.
- 3On some phones, turn off battery optimisation for AuraSeed so blocking isn't interrupted.
- While apps are blocked, you can leave AuraSeed without losing your tree.
- On Android, Phone and Settings are always allowed.
- Apps you install later are blocked too.
Plant together
Grow trees with friends in real time. Planting together needs an Apple or Google sign-in.
- 1Tap Plant together, then Create room.
- 2Share the 6-character room code or the link auraseed.myfiaivn.com/r/CODE with your friends.
- 3Friends enter the code or open the link to join.
- 4Once everyone is in, the host taps Start.
- A room holds 2 to 8 people.
- If one person leaves the app, everyone loses their tree.
- When the whole group succeeds, everyone earns 10% extra Aura.
Your forest
Every session becomes a tree, and grown or withered, it stays in your forest.
- Browse your forest by day, week, month or year.
- Pinch to zoom, and tap a tree to see when you planted it and for how long.
- Gardens shows your whole year, with one garden for each month.
- Tap Share to send friends a message with the number of trees you planted this year.
Stats
See where your time goes and when you focus best.
- Tag each session with Study, Work, Reading, Sport or a tag of your own.
- See your total focus time, success rate and trees planted.
- Charts by hour, day or month show when you focus the most.
Sounds
Calm background sound makes it easier to settle in.
- Pick rain, forest, stream, campfire or birdsong when you plant.
- Set a default sound in Settings.
Live Activity (iOS)
On iPhone, your tree and the time left show on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island.
- No need to unlock your phone to check how long is left.
- If you turn off Live Activities in iOS Settings, your session runs as normal.
Your account
You can use AuraSeed as a guest, or sign in with Apple or Google.
- Guests get every focus feature except planting together.
- Sign in to keep your forest, Aura and Diamonds when you change phones or reinstall the app.
- You can sign in later too: the forest you grew as a guest comes with you.
Aura and Diamonds
Aura comes from focusing. Diamonds are optional purchases.
- You earn 1 Aura for every minute of focus. Sessions of 60 minutes or more earn 20% extra.
- Aura counts up to 600 minutes of focus a day.
- In the Shop, you can choose to watch an ad for +10 Aura, up to 5 times a day.
- Aura unlocks common trees. Rare and epic trees unlock with Diamonds.
- Diamonds come in packs of 60, 130, 350 and 1800. Prices are shown by the App Store or Google Play.
Questions
Does AuraSeed cost anything?
No. Every focus feature is free. Diamonds are only an optional purchase for rare and epic trees.
Does locking my screen kill my tree?
No. Lock your screen whenever you like and your tree keeps growing.
What if I open another app by accident?
You have 10 seconds to come back before your tree withers. With app blocking on, you can use the apps you allow without losing your tree.
Do I need to be online?
Focus sessions work offline. You only need a connection to sync your forest, make purchases and plant with friends.
Do I lose my forest when I change phones?
Not if you've signed in with Apple or Google. Sign in on your new phone and your forest comes with you.
Can children use AuraSeed?
AuraSeed is for ages 13 and up. If you are under the age of majority, ask a parent before making in-app purchases.
My tree died, but I didn't leave the app.
Usually AuraSeed was closed during the session, either because you swiped it away or because your phone closed it to save battery. That counts as leaving the app. An incoming call banner won't kill your tree, and with app blocking on, Phone is always allowed on Android.
Does app blocking work with the app I need?
You choose which apps stay allowed, and every other app is blocked, including ones you install later. On Android, Phone and Settings are always allowed; on iPhone, the apps you allow stay usable.
Can I change a session's length after planting?
No. The length is set when the session starts. If you picked the wrong time, tap Cancel in the first 10 seconds and plant again.
Is there a daily Aura limit?
Aura counts for up to 600 minutes of focus a day. After that you can keep planting as usual, but you won't earn more Aura that day.
Why can't I find a tree in the Shop?
It may no longer be for sale. If you already own it, it stays yours and you can keep planting it.
How do I delete my account?
The Delete account row in Settings appears after you sign in with Apple or Google (guests sign in first). Your whole forest, Aura and Diamonds are deleted for good.
